1 Star Not what I expected. Check product limitations.
This software was purchased to be used with the Garmin Rino 530HCX units, but this review may apply to other units as well, so beware.

First to note: You can only use this on one unit, and you are not able to backup the software for safekeeping or for use on more than one unit if you happen to own more than one. One card per unit. If you overwrite it, you loose it. You cannot use this card for viewing on your computer, or back it up for safekeeping. It has a lock code that prevents you from using it in any manner but inserting it into the gps unit. Technical support will not help you with this issue.It does not state any of this on the box. It is a micro SD card with an adapter, so it is small.

Second: On the Rino 530HCX, this product only gives the elevation contour of the area, with roads and some trails. No DEM shading, no 3-D modeling, etc. These limitations are not noted on or in the box, or anywhere on the Garmin website. Technical support said the flat contour map may be more detailed than the US topo map on CD, but they were not specific as to the differences, if any.

I visited the Garmin website, and it did say it had limited capability, and gave a few examples:

” “Limited capability” may mean that a unit may be able to draw all the map features from the MapSource software, such as roads, lakes, nav-aids, depth contours, wrecks, etc., but the interactive capability of the maps may be limited. For example, you may not be able to “find nearest marinas” or look up additional text about a specific mapping feature. ”

So before you purchase this product, or any other software product of this nature from Garmin, realize that they may not be fully disclosing all of the pertinent information.

Nice detail. They look great and work great on my Garmin Colorado 300 GPS.

Before ordering be sure to take a look at this product on the Garmin Website to be sure the park you need is included in these maps.

If only Garmin would offer 24K topos for all 50 states like the National Geographic Society does. Unfortunately the NGS maps do not work on Garmin units. ( only Garmin maps work on Garmin units ).

The price is too high and coverage too limited for me to score this product higher.

The image shown as of 11/15/07 in no way whatsoever matches the image shown at the Garmin website for this product number (010-10747-00.) It doesn’t evenly remotely resemble what the title describes either. What the heck is a cord doing there and where is the ball for the ball joint connector?

5 Stars OEM Replacement
I left my suction mount at my last car rental. I needed a replacement but didn’t want to spend a fortune. This product is a Garmin OEM and a not a cheapo knockoff. It fit my Nuvi 200 perfectly. Same exact manufacturer’s product id (010-10747-00).

5 Stars Works with a Garmin Quest.
I broke this part on my Garmin Quest’s window mount and this one will work with the Quest. Currently the only Garmin replacement for a Quest is the entire mount (suction cup, cradle and power cord with 12v speaker) for $54. A great replacement for my broken suction cup.

The item I received was the product that was pictured and was the one I was expecting. Received in secure packaging and in good condition. Arrived a little sooner than I expected, which was much appreciated since my old cord was going bad and I needed it quickly but didn’t want to pay extra for fast-shipping.

5 Stars Garmin speaker/cable
Our Garmin 2620 has one design flaw – the speaker/cable. The contact connection becomes loose after many months of use. Purchasing through Amazon was less expensive than purchasing direct from Garmin. The product was exactly the same as one purchased through Garmin and works great.

5 Stars Wrong photo, right product
For some reason, the photo for this product does not match what the actual item is. The written description is correct, though. It is the replacement cable/speaker needed for your Garmin GPS system. It is identical to my original cable/speaker, which had broken (the metal prongs no longer made proper contact with the unit). My original cable no longer fit tightly into the unit–hopefully, that won’t happen with this cable which seems to have a good, tight fit into the unit. This item (which cannot be obtained on the Garmin website or in any stores they list as carrying their products–I checked) works perfectly and seems reasonably priced.

Perfect size for 76CSX. Good protection and keeps GPSr clean when not in use.

The case came with my GPS and it fits perfectly and has a convenient belt loop. The one thing I would like to have had is a pocket to carry my adapter cable for the car lighter.

2 Stars Too BIG!
This case is just way too big for my GPS. After selecting the Garmin eTrex Vista HCx GPS from Amazon, I made sure I selected the correct case by first going to the Garmin website to confirm Amazon’s recommendation. Garmin showed this case and part number for the GPS so I also ordered it from Amazon at the same time as the GPS. When I received it, it was obviously way too big. You could probably fit 3 eTrex Vista GPS’ in that case. I think Garmin must have determined size of their largest portable GPS and created this case, thinking any and all Garmin GPS’ would fit.

I didn’t cut into the plastic packaging, so Amazon took it back and refunded the price. I had to pay shipping though since it was my (really Garmin’s) mistake. I found a generic bag for the GPS that fit a lot better than the one by Garmin. I gave the case 2 stars only because of the bad fit. Otherwise I didn’t see anything wrong or inferior about the product.

The carrying case is basic and gets the job done. I suggest that it have a separate pocket for spare batteries and the USB cable.
